Kinsale Wild Red Mead
is a melomel style mead made from cherries, Wexford blackcurrants, Spanish honey and fermented off dry to 12% ABV.
This mead has been handcrafted in small batches by the Kinsale Mead Co using natural ingredients, old recipes and modern techniques. Its flavours include A lovely clear, clean red fruit aroma with subtle honey notes with good length of blackcurrant tones and a smooth finish. The acidity and tannins from the blackcurrants blend well to offset the slight sweetness from the honey.
Mead is the world’s oldest alcoholic drink, with a global history over 9,000 years. It has been made and drunk in Ireland for centuries. There are many styles including meads with fruit, spices and herbs but once most of the fermentable sugars come from honey, then it’s a Mead.

Kinsale Wild Red Mead is a traditional style mead made from raw orange blossom honey carefully sourced from Southern Spain.
Citrus with ripe apples and even a touch of softer pears and white fruit. An attractive, soft, honeyed, fruity taste which is very enjoyable and certainly different and intriguing. 12% ABV
Enjoy chilled over ice or serve half and half with tonic and an orange garnish.
Lovely with almonds, fish and oysters or try it with a lemon tart.
It is said 30 days or a moon’s supply of mead was given to newlyweds to ensure a successful and fruitful marriage, hence the name Honeymoon.
