Product Description
Midleton Very Rare 2015
is one of the most exclusive whiskeys ever produced in Ireland. Exclusively matured in American oak barrels, this whiskey is only available in strictly limited quantities as just a small number of casks are personally selected by the Master Distiller, Barry Crockett each year. An annual selection since 1984 and thus, very collectable, each bottle is individually numbered and bears the signature of the Master Distiller as a final guarantee of outstanding quality.
Midleton Very Rare 2015 has lively, fruity and ester filled aromas on the nose, although a second nosing reveals some spicy notes of clove, crystallised ginger, boiled sweets, candied orange peel, pineapple and dried apricot. The palate is powerful and assertive showing a bit of a departure from previous bottlings. It is quite muscular and richly flavoured with perhaps a higher pot still content than before, it is quite reminiscent of some of the recent virgin oak single cask editions which begins with sweet, orange citrus and pineapple then quickly becomes quite peppery and spicy with flavours of cloves, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla. The finish has great length with the complex flavours continuing to evolve all the way.
