Product Description
Tyrconnell Single Malt 10 Madeira Cask Whiskey
was originally released as a limited edition but proved to be so popular that is made a permanent part of the Tyrconnell range along with a similar sherry cask finish and the port cask finish. Tyrconnell Single Malt 10 Madeira Cask was awarded ‘Irish Whiskey of the Year 2009’ in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible where he described it as one of the finest Madeira finishes he had ever come across. We have a similar opinion and were equally impressed. This has a rich yet silky smooth mouth feel with delicious flavours of creme caramel, malt, barley sugars, chocolate, toffees and pineapple.
Nose Full and fruity aroma with the citrus spritzyness.
Palate A tang of oranges nad lemons with a strong malt presence that balances well with the oily sweetness.
Finish A long finish with the malt becoming more dominant.
The Watts distillery dates back to 1762 and had a proud tradition of producing good whiskies. Tyrconnell was their flagship brand which was a best seller in the United States before Prohibition and is named after a very successful racehorse owned by the Watt family.
